Radio manufacturer contacted regarding problems cloning from KNG radios. Manufacturer reports issue in latest firmware version and recommends downgrading the firmware version in the radios to correct the issue. Firmware version to correct this issue expected August 2019 - BLM AZ Telecom will test firmware when received, then perform corrective action. Downgrade of firmware will be tested, verified, and performed on affected radios.
Not a BLM radio issue exclusively. Interagency partners and cooperators should assess equipment and the impact on their programs.
Corrective action is required for other radios as well (DMH/DPH), specifically replacement of end of life radios. Without other corrective action, option to front panel program is still available. |
