Narrative
Describe in detail what happened including the concern or potential issue, the environment (weather, terrain, fire behavior, etc), and the resulting health issue.
Critical radio network dropped during wildfire operations which prevented dispatch and field personnel from talking to one another. It appeared it was on the Forest Service connection between Denver, CO and Craig, CO. The dispatch center runs everything (BLM and FS frequencies) across the FS network.
Immediate Action Taken
Reporting Individual : please describe actions you took to correct or mitigate the unsafe/unhealthful event.
We were able to get a radio tech into the office in Craig and he was able to communicate with the fire personnel from the Craig office. We had two helicopters flying and we were unable to talk to them either on our national flight follow channels. A dispatch center in UT called and said they were able to hear the helicopters and did make radio contact with them for us.

Radio networks were still intermittently down the morning of 6/28 and so we had one person go to the Craig office and one person to the Steamboat Springs office to pick up radio traffic that dispatch was unable to hear.
