Narrative
Describe in detail what happened including the concern or potential issue, the environment (weather, terrain, fire behavior, etc), and the resulting health issue.
Engine crew was assigned to remove hazard trees from campground post wildfire. Sawyer had just started cutting for the day, after felling a small tree, they stood up from a crouched position while the chain was still spinning. It made contact with their chaps, pulled out some of the kevlar lining and was subsequently stopped without any harm to the sawyer.
Immediate Action Taken
Reporting Individual : please describe actions you took to correct or mitigate the unsafe/unhealthful event.
Felling operations was immediately halted, I then checked and verified with the sawyer that they were uninjured and safe. Accident was then reported to supervisor and a discussion was had as how to avoid it in the future. Additionally an AAR was conducted in relation to the incident.
