BIA radio technicians were called to check on the radio system and it was determined that the problem was with the T 3 line. Work was done with the phone company and everything was back up and running the following day. A text was sent out to all zone resources once it was known that the repeaters were down.
A downed power line started the fire and shut all power to the reservoirs which prohibited personnel from talking with local dispatch. Mobile phone used as alternate plan to communicate with dispatch. The downed power line was still live and sparking, which created an IWI, which may have created confusion on who was the IC for the wildfire.
