| In response to this Safenet submission, the fire unit addressed the concern by providing the Engine Captain with an Engine Boss trainee and a Firefighter Type 2. We continue to seek options to address concerns while managing a safe and effective fire program. While assigning two FFT2's with an Engine boss is not outside of BLM policy, all crew leaders have the right to express their concern over any operation. They also have the responsibility to work collaboratively with upper management to find a safe and workable solution. It is important that crew leaders understand the capabilities and limitations of their crew members and plan operational assignments accordingly. |
