| Given the timing of reporting and change in incident personnel there was not opportunity to have immediate discussion/ correction at the incident. However, as issues were brought up during the incident, there were discussions with command and general staff of the team as well as operational overhead about the need to maintain focus on operations that had a high probability of success, maintaining safety awareness and communicate planned operations (specifically task, purpose, end-state). Specific intent was prioritization of resources to protect highly valuable resources and assets at risk, developing and communicating an operational plan that was safe and prudent given the fire behavior and projected movement as well as weighing the probable success of the operational assignments. Additional specific emphasis was placed on appropriate resources with appropriate experience for assignments. Additionally, consistent and thoughtful evaluation of safety concerns should occur regularly and appropriate mitigation measures enacted promptly |
