The Willamette radio shop is still monitoring and making improvements to the McKenzie Ranger District radio system. They replaced the repeater modules on June 9th, 2018 as well as performing a complete PM of the base radio and repeaters. On July 17, 2018 the radio shop removed the old analog console located at McKenzie RD and installed new IP based consoles and adjusted the audio level going to the base radio. At the conclusion of fire season the Radio Technicians will relocate the base radio, enabling it to be taken off the old 2 wire analog circuit and connected directly to the network via IP-223, and they will also mount a new antenna.
As part of the fact finding efforts regarding this Safenet the network recordings for the time of the medical incident mentioned in the document were obtained and listened to, the only radio issues noted were from the person(E-111) in the field that sounded like they were moving while talking on the handheld. These recordings are on the Willamette network recorder and available for review upon request. |
