A storm took out a power line in multiple locations to our site. Power was restored, but other areas along the line damaged by the storm makes it necessary for the power company to keep the line de-energized. On June 4th, a generator delivered to the site, but extensive radio transmissions keep the batteries from staying charged (found out that there are two repeaters with 100W Pas for some reason). A temporary power wiring configuration change was necessary to keep radios operational with the small generator we have. Configuration is complicated with 48 volt MW system running multiple 12 volt radio repeaters, control bases, Flight Following and Air Guard.
We are researching renting a larger generator until power is restored, however, radios are operational and currently need continuous care until commercial power can be restored. |
