NIICD recently identified two kits that were shipped to AK Prepo containing radios programmed with the incorrect software. This issue was discovered last week and promptly resolved after the COML contacted us. We provided the correct programming file upon identifying the problem.

It’s important to note that this issue does not affect every kit. While the KNG and BKR radios utilize the same software platform, they require different programming personalities. It appears that during processing through the ATE cages this fall, some radios were inadvertently programmed with the KNG personality instead of the BKR, which explains the missing scan button functionality.

To mitigate this, the NIICD cache team is pulling one radio from each BKR kit to verify the presence of the scan button before shipment. However, it is possible that some Prepo kits may still contain radios with incorrect programming.

NIICD is actively working to resolve the programming issue. Please note that all affected radios remain fully operable and can either be reprogrammed in the field with PC or returned to NIICD for replacement. If there are any question please contact NIICD at 208-387-5644
