  • Monthly System Maintenance that was scheduled this past Saturday did not occur. It has been rescheduled for Saturday September 20. It will begin at 7am (MDT) and last approximately four hours. During this time frame, there will be a disruption in service and applications will be unavailable. The local radio tech, was working this issue from the point he was notified. The issue was either the Ravin LMR Gateway or the network connectivity. But was hard for us to determine the actual failure because we don’t have visibility into a router. So, we rely on NICS and the Network staff to remote into these devices and somehow the problem resolves itself without explanation from either.

The radio systems was not completely down. Only the RCoIP from dispatch was disrupted, the RF to and from the District office was operational and the field personnel and or dispatchers could have coordinated the incident through the District Office personnel. That process is the back-up when RCoIP or dispatch is inoperable.

We do have a POW 2020 to replace the Ravin System with Telex IP 224s on the UWC. The Telex system is much more reliable and will allow the technicians to manage radio traffic much more efficiently.
